Are your cows grassfed?
Yes, all of our cows are pasture raised and 100% grass fed and grass finished.
What grade of beef do you sell?
While we don’t have our meat graded by a USDA inspector, we strive to have rich marbling in our meat through our high class finishing pastures.
Is your beef USDA certified?
Yes, 100% of our beef is processed by a USDA certified processer. This means that a certified USDA inspector certifies things such as cleanliness, proper handling, etc. when being processed to reduce the risk of foodborne illness.
Do you give your cattle mrna vaccines?
No, we do not give our cattle the mrna vaccine and we will NEVER give our cattle the mRNA vaccine!
Cattle Comfort is a Top Priority on Sweeney Farms.
Comfortable, well cared for animals live healthy lives with less stress. Our animals are managed outdoors on pastures in the wonderful Florida sun! With every pasture containing a pond, and 10% of the pastures with Palm trees and Pine's there is plenty of opportunities to cool off. Complete access to food and water 24-hours a day. Cattle are free to take a dip in the ponds, or relax under the Palm trees and enjoy the breeze.
Who assists beef farmers with animal health needs?
Our Farms are in close proximity to the University of Florida school of Veterinary. Should we ever need it, medical assistance is very close. We follow the University of Florida vaccination schedule.
What is Beef Quality Assurance?
A. Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) is a nationally coordinated, state implemented program that provides systematic information to U.S. beef farmers and beef consumers about common sense husbandry techniques. BQA uses accepted scientific knowledge to help manage cattle under optimum management and environmental conditions. BQA sets production standards for quality and safety that are appropriate to an operation. Key elements include biosecurity, animal health and well-being, production performance, and environmental stewardship. BQA production guidelines are designed to make certain all beef consumers can take pride in the beef they purchase and have confidence in the safety of the entire beef industry.

We are located in beautiful Hawthorne, Florida. About 15 minutes outside of Gainesville, Florida.
